My husband and I own a home where two systems were installed a year ago. The duct work is unsealed so it just blows into the wall in the basement. Vents in house don’t have proper ductwork so areas just blow into floors and ceilings.
The drip lines were running at an upward angle, just pushing water back into the units. We had them come out and they halfway fixed it but then told us to leave the units off and open so the insulation could dry (it was SOAKED and falling apart). We bailed it out and tried our best to absorb the water and left the unit off, of course these were the days of 90° Heat every single day… after a week of not being able to use our unit, we called and they sent another crew out who tried again. This time we were told to leave the blower on to dry it… another week before we could get it back on.
Now that the heat is running, we noticed the unsealed and halfway done ductwork.
I can’t even imagine what I’m going to find going through to fix this disaster not to mention the cost.
We also learned our systems won’t work with most learning thermostats without being reworked. Just another headache and expense!
I saw another poster state a “creative solution”… yeah, I’m sure it’s real creative just like this creativity.
Absolute disaster.
