Case Study: Emergency Board-Up and Custom Glass Replacement for a Commercial Garage Door at a Chevrolet Dealership
This is a real commercial service we completed at a dealership of Chevrolet.
The job involved a special commercial garage door with a damaged insulated glass unit. In addition to the broken glass, the existing glass stoppers were also broken. These stoppers are critical for securing the glass and were not standard parts.
Because the opening was exposed and unsafe, we first provided emergency board-up service to secure the door and protect the area until a proper repair could be completed.
After inspection, we confirmed that the door frame was intact and that only the glass unit and stoppers needed replacement. Since the original stoppers were custom and unavailable off the shelf, we fabricated custom stoppers specifically for this door to ensure proper fit and long-term durability.
Once the custom insulated glass unit and stoppers were ready, we returned to complete the installation. The new glass was installed, secured, and sealed, restoring safety, insulation, and proper operation of the commercial garage door.
