Did you know when lights are required on a trailer?
1. Federal law mandates that all trailers must have stop lights, turn signals, tail lights, and reflectors.
2. Most states adhere to these federal standards. It's important to check your local regulations, as some may have slight variations.
3. Trailers less than 80 inches wide need two tail lights, two stoplights, two turn signals, a license plate light, rear and front side reflectors, and rear and front side marker lights.
4. Wider trailers and those shorter than 30 feet have more stringent requirements, including clearance lights and rear identification lights.
