Do you need a CDL to pull a gooseneck trailer?
Not always, but often. A CDL is generally required if the Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) of the towing vehicle and trailer is 26,001 pounds or more, and the trailer's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is over 10,000 pounds. Other factors like transporting hazardous materials or commercial use can also require a CDL.
