I’m honestly very disappointed and surprised with my kitten’s condition upon pickup this morning. I believed boarding here would be a great option given the reviews, however, will never board again after my experience. For reference, when I dropped my kitten off Wednesday, I provided a printed list of care instructions to include feeding schedule, vet information, and special considerations, given that my kitten is a Persian and has extremely long fur. The lady that received him did not take the document I had created and instead just jotted down notes from it. While they did send photos of him while I was away, it doesn’t not make up for the fact that my kitten was covered in feces matted into the fur on his paws and hind quarters, including tail, bottom, and stomach. I wrote down on the document that he might require cleaning if this happens (which rarely happens at home because we ensure he’s well provided for) and I don’t believe anyone checked or even cared, because this feces was not new, and was instead crusted into the fur. He smelled terrible and to see him in such a state really adversely affected me. In addition, we dropped him off with a blanket that smelled like home and when we collected him this morning, the gentleman that was working said the blanket needed to be washed because it was “covered in ick,” which I can only now assume was feces. I came home and bathed him immediately. While I understand that kittens are often messy and careless, my kitten (6 months old) is quite clean and does not typically step into his own feces unless the litter is too shallow, the box is too small, or his dietary instructions are not followed closely. I don’t think the feeding schedule was followed correctly either, because he had two portions of wet food unopened, despite dropping him off with the correctly calculated amount for our trip. I’m angry that this happened, especially for a place that calls themself luxury cat boarding.
