Formative Pruning
When a tree is young, it's pruned in order to shape and develop. This process can be called formative or corrective pruning because you are trying to make the tree grow towards a certain direction while still supporting its growth with thick branches wherever necessary.
Hedge Maintenance
A hedge is a beautiful addition to any property. It needs attention during different parts of the year with special care being given in spring, summer and autumn for watering it properly as well as fertilizing if needed at either time before winter when you can prune away dead wood.
Crown Cleaning
Crown cleaning is like an important form of maintenance that helps to protect the health and stability for a tree, while also removing dead branches. In order to get started with crown pruning you'll need some basic tools such as loppers or clippers!
Deadwooding
Deadwooding is the practice of trimming dead wood off your tree. Over time, large and small branches will begin die-off on a tree because they lack nutrients from only one side which leads them to become weak or even break under pressure.
Crown Reduction
Unlike tree topping, crown reduction is a safe and healthy pruning method that shortens the height of your tree or branches by only cutting select limbs to below-the next lateral growth as small as possible. This helps promote faster healing while also limiting risk for future injury of the tree.
Crown Lifting
Tree crown lifting is the removal of lower branches to lift the height of a tree's base. It can be used as an alternative measure for increasing clearances between ground and fallen trees, or it may simply reduce weight from your property by removing extra wood that would otherwise cause problems.
Storm Damage Work
When it comes to severe weather, the most damaging property damage occurs when trees or limbs fall. High winds in summer storms can cause tree roots fail and branches weaken due them being saturated with water--this includes an inspection of your climbing materials as well!
Tree Dismantling
When a tree is being removed, it cannot always be felled. The canopy may have to come down in sections for safety or property damage prevention purposes! This step-by-step tree removal is known as Tree Dismantling.
Removal of Dead, Dangerous and Diseased Trees
Tree removal means the removal of a tree, through direct or indirect actions, including but not limited to: (a) clearing, damaging or poisoning resulting in an unhealthy or dead tree; (b) removal of at least half of the live crown; or (c) damage to roots or trunk to destroy the tree's structure.
Large Tree Removal
A certified arborist has the training and equipment to remove large trees safely. This process requires segmenting the tree and safe removal of individual elements before the trunk and main structure can be removed safely.
Ivy Removal and Severance
Removing Ivy from a home or tree is a painstaking process and is best left to professional Tree Surgeons to ensure that property damage or tree damage is kept to a minimum.
Site Clearance
Removal of all rocks, roots and trees before we begin to level out the ground. Before creating a brand new parking lot or road we first have to clear site for construction crews by removing any vegetation and surface soil from an area of land where you want something built in order make room.
Stump Grinding and Treatment
A stump grinder chews away at the stump wood that’s left after a tree has been cut down. All stump grinders use a powerful, rotating blade that rips into the wood as it turns. The blade’s teeth cut the stump wood into small pieces.
Stump Removal
Tree removal can be a messy and time-consuming process. The stump, roots and all of the dirt must be removed from your yard in order for new plants or flowers to thrive properly - which means you'll need equipment like Bobcats!
Target Pruning
The practice of natural target pruning makes use of the branch collar to identify where you should cut it. There's an interesting three-cut process for removing branches, which preserves bark tissue and helps avoid collateral damage with other parts in your tree!
Veteran Tree Management
Veteran trees require a unique set of management strategies. There are a number of ways by which a veteran tree can be retained for as long as possible. Speak to one of our Tree Surgeons for advice or request a review from our Aboricultural Consultant.
Tree Felling
Tree Felling is the process of cutting down trees in a safe and controlled manner, this can apply to large single trees or many trees in one go or over a period of time.
Logs and Woodchip
If you require logs or woodchip for any use, please contact Stan Timmins and Sons Tree Surgery to see how we can help. We often have logs and woodchip available for various uses.
Tree Inspections
If you own a home or have any trees around your property, it's important to know the condition of those structures. A tree risk survey can help identify potential problems with your favorite fruit grown on branches high above ground level!
