3 key signs you have woodworm
These are the main signs to look out for when investigating whether you have woodworm, and whether it is historic or an active infestation.
Small round exit holes
The holes are around 1-2mm in size and are created by the beetles that fly out of the timbers.
Frass (yellow/orange fine dust)
This dust is the excretions of the woodworm over their lifecycle, that is typically pushed out of the exit holes when the beetles emerge.
Tunnels in the affected wood
As the larvae travel around inside the wood eating it, they create tunnels of where they have been. If you look at the inside of woodworm affected wood you will see their tunnels.
