Detailed Timber & Roof Inspection at an NHS Property in Nottingham.
Timberwise Nottingham carried out a full timber inspection across several roof voids at an NHS property in Nottingham. Fortunately, a fixed scaffold was already in place for other works, which provided rare access to inspect both the internal and external roof areas safely and thoroughly.
This allowed us to check the roof from the inside where external defects may be allowing rainwater in, and to assess whether any of the timbers had begun to suffer from fungal decay.
It’s not often that you get the opportunity to examine the very top of a chimney stack up close, and these images show just how easily rainwater can enter through cracked flaunching, spalled brickwork and perished mortar joints.
Inspections like this highlight the importance of early identification - small defects can quickly turn into major issues if moisture is allowed to penetrate the structure.
