My husband had a major stroke in April 2019 and was discharged from hospital 4 months later, unable to stand unaided, needing 2 carers 4 times a day and a hoist, telling us that he would never walk again or get in my car. We were incredibly lucky to find Thorpes Neuro Physio through a carer. We weren’t given any false hopes but were heartened by their assessment that they would have him walking with a quad stick and in my car by Christmas, and that is exactly what they did. So began our long relationship with Thorpes but especially with Jenny Walker. We are still having home visits from Jenny (and continued via zoom throughout Covid) who has been amazing, always giving me hope and encouragement when I am feeling particularly down and instilling such confidence in us both, I cannot praise her enough. Sadly he fell and broke his hip in October 22 coming home from hospital the day before Christmas Eve with virtually no physio, and the chance of him walking again seemed very bleak. But again with Jenny’s help and encouragement, he has achieved the (supposedly) impossible. I can honestly say we wouldn’t be where we are today without Jenny and the team.

My son has been seeing Jenny for nearly 3 years now following his stroke. I can not recommend her enough! He has come such a long way since his first appointment. I’m so glad we made the decision to contact Thorpes as without them, his rehab would have been a different story. Not only has Jenny helped him physically, she has also been a huge support for him emotionally. She listens to him and involves him in every step of the way. She completely gets him and and I just love watching them work together as a team! I’m forever grateful for what’s she’s done to help him, and me!

Thorpes Neuro Rehab have been more than amazing throughout my stroke recovery. Jenny has been my physio since late 2020 and I would not be where I am today without her support and guidance. She always knows when to push me and has helped me believe that anything is possible. My confidence has grown massively and my physical mobility has improved hugely too! I cannot recommend Thorpes (specifically Jenny) enough!!

Annie and Sonya at Thorpes are both brilliant. My wife Claire had a stroke in November and is still recovering with the help of both of them and they are doing an amazing work with her, so thank you Thorpes team for all your support!! Great service from a very professional team.

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s three years ago. Working with Jenny, Annie, Becky and the team at Thorpe’s Neuro Rehab has helped me to overcome significant physiological issues and greatly improved my quality of life. They bring a wide-ranging, in-depth knowledge and expertise, always delivered with care, humour, patience and a willingness to help and understand.

When I began sessions with Thorpes I was heavily dependent upon walking aids and my balance was precarious. I was soon able to discard all walking aids and my balance is now assured. My sessions with Thorpes were highly effective and carried out in a patient- focused manner.

Very good rehab following my stroke. One to one sessions excellent with focus on my goals an areas which need work. They work you hard but no pain no gain! Group exercises on a Friday are also most beneficial. Good premises and useful range of equipment. Highly recommended.

Sonya from Thorpes has done a marvellous job with home (domiciliary) rehabilitation physio for my wife. The NHS service managed to get her to walk after a very long hospital stay, and this was continued by Hampshire community physiotherapy services for a limited period. Sonya picked up the continuing rehabilitation, did a thorough assessment and produced motivational goals against a personalised programme. Her encouragement has been fundamental to continued improvement and ability. Following a medical setback requiring another two week's hospitalisation, Sonya revamped the programme on her first subsequent visit, but, most importantly, restored confidence in the patient's abilities and gently encouraged her to get back on track. It was important that the company worked with BUPA when treatment started. They have been very flexible and helpful as circumstances changed, and we are very pleased with them and will continue to use them privately.
