My husband had a major stroke in April 2019 and was discharged from hospital 4 months later, unable to stand unaided, needing 2 carers 4 times a day and a hoist, telling us that he would never walk again or get in my car. We were incredibly lucky to find Thorpes Neuro Physio through a carer. We weren’t given any false hopes but were heartened by their assessment that they would have him walking with a quad stick and in my car by Christmas, and that is exactly what they did. So began our long relationship with Thorpes but especially with Jenny Walker. We are still having home visits from Jenny (and continued via zoom throughout Covid) who has been amazing, always giving me hope and encouragement when I am feeling particularly down and instilling such confidence in us both, I cannot praise her enough. Sadly he fell and broke his hip in October 22 coming home from hospital the day before Christmas Eve with virtually no physio, and the chance of him walking again seemed very bleak. But again with Jenny’s help and encouragement, he has achieved the (supposedly) impossible. I can honestly say we wouldn’t be where we are today without Jenny and the team.

My son has been seeing Jenny for nearly 3 years now following his stroke. I can not recommend her enough! He has come such a long way since his first appointment. I’m so glad we made the decision to contact Thorpes as without them, his rehab would have been a different story. Not only has Jenny helped him physically, she has also been a huge support for him emotionally. She listens to him and involves him in every step of the way. She completely gets him and and I just love watching them work together as a team! I’m forever grateful for what’s she’s done to help him, and me!
