Thanks to Graham and the gang for their assistance with our project. We were welcomed warmly when visiting the factory, the stove operation was explained in detail and we left with all the information needed. Having ordered our range our project hit a few delays and thornhill were happy to store the range until we were ready for delivery. Delivery was flawless and within 15 minutes of arriving the range was in place. Cooking on the range is a joy and the food somehow just seems to taste better, jacket potatoes 🥔 are amazing. Very happy customer.

I cannot recommend this company enough!! It was a delightful process from start to finish. They were so helpful and understanding of my situation. The cooker is absolutely stunning and we’re so looking forward to moving in and having a cozy winter!!

Having had our cooker for 6 months now I can honestly say how wonderful it has been. It kept us nice and toasty through the winter and is now switched off and using the electric side only. Very easy to keep clean and absolutely LOVE the colour! The cooker is very controllable and I can’t recommend enough.

I purchased a Thornhill 5 oven Eco Oil/Electric hybrid range. Nice looking range but let down by the electric side and the awful customer service. Ordered Oct 22. After much chasing, the wrong one arrived mid June 23 ( 8 months waiting). Instead of an apology I got an angry email accusing me of reusing the cooker. I replied with the confirmatory evidence I had changed the original fuel from wood to oil 3 months before. The correct one arrived 3 weeks later. Although the website says “installation is included in the price”, this is not the case. They only deliver and put in position. I designed the space around the cooker specifications on the website and checked them by phone. However, they failed to tell me the oil pipe sticks out a further 8 cm. My plumber, therefore, had to reroute the internal oil pipe through the back of the range so we could get it in. As it was summer I was using only the electric side. It is not fit for a large family if you want to rely on this part in the summer months. It is very basic with only two halogen hobs. The whole space seems to be wasted. The touch sensitive controls are in the way and if you have a large pan/frying pan on the back ring, there is no room for a pan on the smaller front ring without causing the child lock or off buttons to trigger unknowingly. Very frustrating. The two electric fan ovens have poor controls. They are difficult to turn with greasy cooking hands or arthritis. There is no temperature indicator so you have no idea what temperature the ovens are actually at without turning the knobs to hear the click of the thermostat. The ovens take at least 30 mins to heat up to a decent cooking temp, and the food is unevenly cooked and needs turning to prevent burning at the back. The whole purpose of a fan oven is to allow even cooking without turning. When I first received the cooker, the heat up time on the electric side was almost 60 minutes to 180 degrees. The customer service reply about my issues was curt, bordering on rude and offered no explanation or resolution except “nobody else has had any problems”. In fact we discovered the doors springs were not in the correct position and altered them ourselves to improve the heat up time to 30 mins. Despite being describe as ultra efficient I was surprised to see that on the oil side the two hobs are connected by a huge uncovered part. This means heat constantly escapes (using more oil) and unlike with an AGA you cannot drape anything over the lids due to the exposed hot plate and fire risk. The only saving grace for this range is that it can be programmed to come off and on. If you do go for this range, do not expect any servicing instructions. Apparently the servicing is “basic for a qualified oil engineer.”However, do expect the engineer to be puzzled by the lack of gas sampling port. On questioning this on installation, this has to be drilled through your nice new enamel flue ( obviously). Also do not expect more than one shelf per oven, any oven instructions, warranty information nor receipts for your hard earned cash. To conclude, having paid over £12000 I was expecting a quality product, good customer service and a cooker that would be a joy to use. In all these aspects Thornhill have fallen short of the mark.

We initially looked at a few makes when choosing a wood burning cooker and having compared some better known brands with the Thornhill, we decided fairly quickly that Thornhill was the way to go. We have not been disappointed, from the helpful advice from Graham about fitting requirements and running to the build quality and performance. This cooker is well built but also designed by an engineer with an eye to replacing parts in future, not that I can see that ever really being an issue. We have been thoroughly pleased with the cooker and the hardest part of the process was choosing the colour!

Really helpful with details about their stoves and answering all our questions. Delivery super efficient (we are in France). Our wood burner is just beautiful and we are enjoying cooking on it as well as the cosy heat to the room. It’s hard to find another wood burner like this with the double glazed door so you can see the flames but your legs aren’t melted. Makes great toasted sandwiches:) The dog also approves.

Graham and team are great. Good communications, professional fitting and excellent after sales. Our "Burnie" is far better and cheaper than our previous AGA, plus made in England so it's win win win. Just about to order our second cooker due to house move....but sooo many colours to choose from 🤔😃

Our Thornhill Range Cooker has transformed our kitchen diner turning it from a cold, draughty room into a warm welcoming space that people want to spend time in. Ruby, as we call her, is the heart of the house now for not only the humans here but dogs too! Cooking is easy with dishes like roasts and bread keeping moist yet crisped. Casseroles and soups can chunter away without the dread of high fuel bills. While heating the house, we get cooking for free!

Loving our wood pellet Thornhill range cooker - right from the start it was great to meet with Graham and work through our needs and ideas with him. Seeing our plans come to life has been amazing and the range is now at the heart of our renovation of an old farmhouse, breathing life into our new home.

I must be the only person happy with the wash-out British summer of 2023 - because it means I get to light my Thornhill again! It's the best cooker on the market. The electric ovens, grill and hob are perfect when it's too warm to light the woodburner, but it really comes into its own when you get the fire going. Once you're used to getting it up to temperature (not difficult, but you do need to make sure you're burning the wood properly - no different to a 'normal' woodburner), it's really easy to cook on. We slow roast, fast roast, bake, boil and simmer. But it also keeps the kitchen (and most of the rest of the house) warm and cosy, and it dries our clothes, walking boots and wellies. We can still cook and boil water even in a power cut, and the dogs and cats love it too. It's surprisingly efficient - and it stores heat so well that it keeps downstairs warm overnight. No need for radiators in the winter! We can always turn on the electric ovens if we need even more cooking space for an enormous party, or just to grill or cook something quickly. Cleaning it is easy too: a chimney sweep and some general maintenance, but no need for a load of specialists. It's just all-round brilliant and I'm so glad I found it.
