The Tailor

Wanted a phone case made up in Harris tweed to replace one I had for years. No other tailor would take as they said to small a job. This tailor did, I supplied the material and a few days later had a perfect replacement made up..Great craftsmanship and service. Highly recommend.

He is absolutely amazing! Me and my husband have taken many clothes to be altered and repaired and he has done an amazing job. He has a great eye for detail as well. You can tell that he is very knowledgeable and knows what will work best for each garment. So pleased to have such a wonderful tailor nearby! Thank you so much.

I've taken quite a number of clothes in to be altered by The Tailor & every time his service has been first class, he honestly is such a lovely, friendly & mild mannered guy as well, I actually look forward to popping in for a chat & he's also very helpful. His prices are excellent & turnaround times are quick. There's honestly nowhere else I'd go to have any tailoring done. Top service, kind owner and competitive prices. I visit to resize or repair my re-enactment clothes and battle gear, which is specific and hard to work with. This venue tho is not afraid of a challange and I have been provided with top quality service. Will recommend. The photo is of my recent gambeson, which is very thick and arrived in very large size. Engin done It's resizing, and kept historical accuracy with the stitches. It looks as it should and wasn't an easy task.

Needed a curtain panel taken up within a couple of hours, before my joiner left the flat. The Tailor kindly did the work within the time. Was friendly and reasonably priced.

I ordered a dress online for a friend’s wedding, but when it arrived, it was far too long—and the wedding was just a couple of days away! I was panicking, but then I came across The Tailor. I gave them a call, and although Engin was busy, he kindly said he could squeeze me in. I headed straight to the shop, where Engin greeted me warmly, pinned the dress quickly, and assured me it would be ready in time. I was so relieved—thanks to Engin, I could move freely and enjoy the ceilidh without tripping over my dress! Thank you so much for saving the day!

Excellent Tailor. Shortened a few dresses for me, one of which was extremely delicate fabric with lining. Did an amazing job. All ready at the time agreed, and for a very reasonable price. An unexpected gem of a find in this area. I’ve been to a few tailors in Edinburgh over the years and ‘The Tailor’ in Gorgie is now my go to, despite being a bit of a hike for me. Highly recommend.

Have been using The Tailor for years, can't fault his work. Had my step daughter's bridesmaid dress altered here as well as many pairs of trousers for myself and a couple of jumpsuits. He is such a lovely man, a really kind soul who is always welcoming. Highly recommend
