The Northwest Gardener

I need to preface this with I am in my mid-fifties, grew up in a gardening family, and have never asked for help or hired anyone to help in my garden. The Northwest Gardener was a pleasure to work with and did an amazing job on the clearing and redesigning of my front landscape. I could not be happier! Communication was great! I knew what to expect and when and they quickly responded to any question or request that I had. They were very thoughtful and included me in all decisions about what to clear or leave, where to place the large rocks, and where and what to plant. The area they worked in is large and was completely overgrown with plants and shrubs and horsetail had taken over! As I know the horsetail will come back, at least I can manage it now. I have five shrubs/trees that I wanted to keep, and they were very careful around them, trimmed them up, and now I can see their beauty! They cleared, added some basalt boulders, put good soil down, planted shrubs that I chose, and put down fine bark. They were professional and kind and I couldn’t be happier! I will hire them again for any landscape needs I have in the future! Thank you to Hunter, Kyle, Diego and the rest of the crew! You are all awesome!

I absolutely love Northwest Gardener! They refresh my flower pots every quarter, and each season looks better than the last. The colors, textures, and plant choices are always spot‑on. It’s one of my favorite little luxuries—highly recommend!

Our house has some beautiful large pots in the front and the side deck. My wife tended to these pots as best as she could until her death two years ago. I did a Google search and fortunately found The Northwest Gardener! Julie came out for an initial consult. The pots were in disarray. She replanted them all with beautiful flowers and has maintained them every season since. They are always so colorful and bring back fond memories of my wife. I have found The Northwest Gardener to be very reasonably priced and a terrific value for all they do. I could not recommend them more highly!

We are so happy with our yard! We were experiencing soil erosion and deterioration of our 50 year old wood retaining wall. Hunter and Kyle came in and created a beautiful backyard space for us. Replacing the wood with rocks was a natural choice for us. The team left our yard clean and neat each day. Retaining walls are an expensive endeavor, so we wanted to make sure it was done right. When an unexpected problem came up, Hunter communicated immediately. He clearly shared what the issue was and how it could be fixed. We were not surprised to learn our drainage wasn't going where it was supposed to go. Hunter and his team fixed that. I am confident this retaining wall will be beautiful and functional for years to come. We are beyond happy.

We had hired The Northwest Garden to do a few projects for us which included rebuilding retaining walls on a steep slope under our house. They did a wonderful job and we are extremely happy with the results.

great communication. excellent attention to detail, receptive to feedback and collaboration. creative problem solving. they re-did our yard and drainage systems on a challenging hillside location, and gave us something that will scale into the future, and fixed our flooding issues, while giving us a beautiful new lawn. they work efficiently and quickly, and have several skillsets making them very well rounded for a lot of different project types. very happy with their service. well above par for what I've seen in this industry.

I was trying to obtain estimates and guidance for my company on some hedge repair and replacement. I made multiple calls and sent emails to various businesses and Kyle from the Northwest Gardener was the only one to respond and assist me. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you!

The Northwest Gardener did a complete make-over of our backyard. We couldn’t be happier with the results. After discussing our wants, Doug redesigned our backyard. With his expertise and knowledge, he presented us with a plan. The end results were amazing. It included: removing existing grass, building a retaining wall, leveling the area, installing a new irrigation system, new plants and transplanting some existing plants, new sod, and a new fence. The whole crew was great and Kyle had an excellent eye for placing plants, rocks, and the pathway. The whole team was timely, pleasant to work with, always stopped to talk with us whenever we had questions and the area was cleaned up at the end of every day. Amazing work on my terrible front yard. They worked tirelessly on some very rainy days to get my front yard done. The work was amazing and completely transformed my yard. Very professional and easy to work with. I'll have them back in the spring to help fix my grass!
