Went out looking for an affordable home for me and my son and was referred to the mandell apartments by a few of my friends who’s already residents at the apartment. I walked in and was greeted by a very nice warm smile from the apartment manager mrs Toni she was very pleasant and made me feel comfortable she took her time and walked me through the unit she was very knowledgeable of all the questions I had so by the time our day ended I was eager to put in my application. So I’m now waiting on approval so weather I become a tenant or not anybody looking for a nice peaceful place to stay check out the Mandells not to mention they have a pool and the have a 24 hr gym.

Looking for new apartments in the Denham area, spoke on phone with property manager Carmen I believe it was. She was well informed about the property, amenities, filing process and requirements for leasing. Super sweet up beat lady, definitely recommend if moving toward Baton Rouge area

I love The Mandell. Ms. Alice was so professional and stayed in contact throughout the whole application process. The apartments are clean and safe. The grass is always cut with no stray animals. If anything goes wrong in the unit the maintenance department is there to fix it in a reasonable matter . The neighbors are quiet and friendly. I am so in love with my new home !If you were thinking about moving to The Mandell this is your sign to come and apply! Everything is awesome here!!

I originally visited the property just over 2 months ago when I found out I would be moving to Baton Rouge for my job. Due to school districts, I decided I wanted to live in this area because of the great schools, rather than in Baton Rouge. The location of the property was perfect for me as it was so accessible to the school I wanted my son to attend and to the interstate for me to get to work. When I drove up, I was sure I wouldn’t like it, the grounds were not well maintained and overall, the property felt unkept. I decided to go ahead and look at the apartment, because it was the location I wanted and was the perfect price point for my budget. The manager greeted me and was so kind, she made me feel very comfortable and told me that she had just started a week or two prior to my visit and the property was under new management and are beginning to do major renovations to the property and to the individual apartments. When I walked into the apartment I instantly fell in love with the place! It had a beautiful bay windows! I returned later that evening to see the place at night and Mrs. Joyce was walking around picking up trash! She noticed me and waved and smiled like she was greeting a good friend! Jump forward to this past week, I returned to visit a few places again and to make my final decision and do paperwork and deposit. When I went in to office I was kindly greeted by Ms Alice, she was very nice and informative, then Mrs Joyce came in to the room and instantly recognized me and made me feel like she was so sincerely happy to see me. She remembered what size apartment I previously viewed and that I had a dog that was like my son’s best friend and very important to us! She showed me an updated apartment that was close to the “dog park” and let me know what plans they had in store for that area. The apartment was close to the pool as well, which my son was very excited about! The property looked like an entirely new place compared to my first time seeing it, you can really tell that good things are happening here. After seeing the improvements that have already happened and informed of the improvements on the way, I chose The Crossing as our new home! I’m so excited and can’t wait to move in next month! Thank you Mrs Joyce for your kindness and for your hard work!!

Wow what a difference a manager makes! Wanted to move here about a year ago but after about 5 minutes in office I changed my mind. I never forgot the huge closets and bay windows. Decided to go back and see if maybe a new manager. I love this place even more than I remembered. Unfortunately due to a second job I make to much money to live there. The manager still took her time to show me around. She told me to tell my friends and I will because this would be a great place to live.

I very rarely leave reviews, however, this is one Apartment Home that is most deserving of one! Ms.Allice is very personable and professional. She explains everything clearly, and gives you options, as well as educated explanations of each. She is also very compassionate. cares for her tenants and how they are feeling during the entire procedure.Right from the moment I walked into the office, I felt comfortable. I will definitely be referring everyone I know to this place!

Formerly known as the crossing and now under new ownership. The Mandell Apartment Homes are leasing. I’ve been a resident since 2021. Immediately after the new owners took over, the complex has been under much needed renovations. The Mandell group has taken ownership for seven months, though renovations are still ongoing much has changed. The community management team along with the maintenance staff, are accommodating and professional. I planned to relocate after my lease expired earlier this year; but after seeing the dedication to improve this run down property and the eagerness displayed by the owners and management, I decided to stay. The near by apartments and local communities can’t compare to the spacious floor plans provided here. The rental price is also hard to beat. I’m looking forward to the complete renovation process.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! If I could rate zero stars I would in a heartbeat. There are no staff in the office and haven’t been for 3-4 months. Good luck getting them to answer phones. The gate has been broken since prior to my lease March 2023. Even paying rent is a hassle. You have to drop it off at the sister property’s drop box next door because there’s no one in the office and the access to the drop box (located in the office) has been compromised for months. Maintenance for your apartment is nonexistent. They don’t answer phones or return calls unless you call their corporate office in which case you still won’t hear from anyone but they send someone within 3-5 days (if you’re lucky) regardless of emergency or not. I have not received pest control since my lease March 2023 despite the random notices that they will be coming every blue moon. I have cameras and no one has ever showed up. New issue: wasps and hornets swarming the buildings and landing on my 6 week old infant as I was getting his car seat out of the car yesterday. I stress to you, do not move here. I’m literally counting down until my lease is over and I will not look back. This was one of the worst properties I’ve ever lived at especially considering all these issues with the current rate of the rent. It’s nearly a scam.

I have been calling and sending emails regarding my deposit. I have moved out in march of 2025 and have yet to receive deposit. I finally got ahold of someone and she stated I will get it within a few days, it has been another month now and still nothing. Now they are not answering the phone, this is so unprofessional.

Very poor maintenance & very unfriendly office people. Office phone number has been disconnected & no one has been in the office for a week at least. New review (6 months later): New manager (so he said) came around to inspect my apartment. Haven't seen or heard from him again. Rumor is going around that owners want to make people move out so they can renovate (& probably raise the rents). Still no one in the office. Tried twice to pay my rent today (Feb 2nd) but the office door is locked & can't even access the drop box to put my check in. I don't have a car & am physically unable to walk to another location to leave my check. I have been here 12 years now & it used to be a nice place with friendly people. No longer. I am a senior citizen & handicapped but I am told that if I need new ceiling fan lights, I am supposed to get a ladder & change them myself. Another update: complex has been sold & renamed. Now is the Mendel?? Rent has jumped - 2 bedroom apt is now $1107 for a 2 bedroom apt - a jump of $267 mon
