Just returned from my first week, and it was everything at once: relaxing, challenging, varied, and enriched by classmates from different countries. Most of all, I learned an incredible amount in an environment that was both laid-back and demanding in the best way. The teachers are fantastic: truly passionate about their work, with deep knowledge of history, art, architecture and so much more. I had wonderful conversations in Italian on a wide range of topics, and I could feel my confidence growing (which was needed!) every day. This school is a real gem if you’re looking for a professional learning experience right in the heart of beautiful, historic Siracusa. The building has a stunning garden, an oasis of peace during the breaks, and it’s located just steps away from breathtaking sites such as public gardens and the Catacombs. Highly recommended!

I stayed here for three weeks and started learning Italian. The teachers and everybody around are very nice, and the school offers next to the classes extra activities during the weeks. For the first two weeks I took the classes as "Bildungsurlaub" and by the start of the second I decided to stay an extra week. The school has a beautiful garden, where you meet other students from around the world and enjoy your breaks. For can recommend taking the intensive class in order to really progress on the language. The school also offers apartments for a lower rate to its students of which some are located in the historic city center and some are a bit closer to school and at a less "touristic" area (which I really enjoyed). In total, I would definitely recommend this language school in beautiful Siracusa.

I've studied in many Italian schools in Italy and this school was one of the best. Very well organized, students at same level in the class, our teacher Giulia is amazing! All classes were previously prepared to fulfill student's demands. I strongly suggest this school!

I really enjoyed my time at the Academy, found my two teachers, Julia and Juzy, quite exceptional : very much involved, very creative in their learning methods full of games and appropriate subjects of conversation. The courses were very useful to me and pleasant. I feel I have made tremendous progress. The only shortcoming is the fact that the afternoon intensive course starts only 30 mn after the 3 hours morning class : no time for a proper break and for lunch. I will definitely come back but certainly won't do the afternoon intensive course even if I would love to...

I had the best time at The Italian Academy! The school and it's settings are beautiful, the quality of teaching is outstanding and the staff are beyond friendly and helpful. Special shout out to my lovely teacher Louisa who was kind and patience and to Melania, the course co-ordinator who goes above and beyond in making sure you are well supported and looked after. Also to Erika, the intern on reception who every morning would go without saying hello. I miss the school already and can't wait to go back next year!

Wonderful place for adults to learn Italian, away from the main tourist paths, where you can practice daily with locals. The academy provides very small classes - there were 2 of us! - and you truly have the full attention of instructor. Lessons run daily in the morning which leaves afternoons and evenings to explore the town. The accommodation at the "lemon villa" is freshly renovated and includes a serene patio perfect for a glass of vino or a local beer during hot nights in Sicily. The Ortygia Island is a walk away and welcomes you with restaurants, markets, gelaterias, bars, cafés... closely distributed among historical markers (temple of Apollo, Aretusa fountain...) It is very easy to rent a car and make a trip to Mount Etna, nearby perched villages such as Modica or go on day trip visit Corleone, Palermo... School also provides excursions with tour guides to nearby attractions. We participated in a guided tour of Noto, a visit to the Greek amphitheatre and a boat tour which included a dinner and a swim in the middle of the Mediterranean. Would go again in a heartbeat!

My week here surpassed all expectations. The admin team is really organised and helpful, and the teachers fun and professional. I got a great taste of both the language and the culture. The school’s setting is also magical. Grazie a tutti!

The academy offers excellent Italian language courses in a beautiful building in Siracusa. The staff are friendly and helpful. Hopefully we will return in the future. We would stay in Ortigia next time though.
