I was so happy I had the courage to call and make an appointment at The Egyptian Queen Salon and Spa. I was in serious need of finding someone who could bring my curly hair back to health and let me just say I have no regrets. I even took my husband and 4 kids to get there curls trimmed. Suzu, owner and stylist, is just absolutely amazing, very genuine, patient, and lovely person. She brought my hair back to health and also has amazing products to keep your hair healthy.

I had an amazing experience at The Egyptian Queen Salon & Spa with Susu, the owner and stylist. I came in for a hair straightening treatment, and I am so impressed with how smooth, shiny, and manageable my hair is now! Susu is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and so welcoming. She genuinely cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. The treatment itself was relaxing, and the results were even better than I expected. My hair is naturally frizzy and hard to manage, especially in humid weather, but now it looks sleek and healthy with almost no effort on my part. I’ve had so many compliments already! The salon is peaceful, and has a really warm, inviting vibe. Susu creates an atmosphere where you can truly unwind and feel pampered. Highly recommended!

From the moment I sat in her chair, she made me feel completely comfortable and understood — something I’ve rarely experienced when getting a haircut. Before she even picked up the scissors, Suzu took the time to have a thoughtful consultation with me about my hair, my current routine, and the products I’ve been using. She really listened and helped me map out a plan to reach my hair goals. Throughout the process, she explained what she was doing, why she was doing it, and which products would best support my specific curl type. I’ve always dreaded getting my hair cut because so many stylists don’t know how to work with curls, but Suzu is the exception. She’s incredibly knowledgeable about curly hair — how to cut it, shape it, style it, and care for it. The style she gave me brought my curls back to life, and for the first time, I left a salon feeling excited and confident. On top of her technical skill, Suzu is such an empowering, sweet, and genuinely helpful person. You can tell she loves what she does and truly wants her clients to feel their best. Susu is the sweetest, kindest hairdresser I've had the pleasure of working with. She treated my girls like royalty and really built their confidence up with just one visit! She brought my hair back to life after 7 years of not being able to afford a haircut. She recommended product that actually WORKS, and my curls haven't been this curly, ever! Thank God for Susu ♥️ Her hair knowledge is endless, and her skills are amazing! The shop is a whole vibe, and I highly recommend anyone who wants an amazing hairstylist to give her a call! Susu at Egyptian Queen in Champaign really understands and appreciates both curly hair and color theory. I actually liked my “silver gray” curls, but when I got bored and was ready to go from gray to “color with highlights”, she used the instagram images I brought as inspiration, but adjusted the color to my skin tone. The color combination is beautiful and I always get compliments on how flattering and natural it looks (see Before-After below). Susu is also a light in the world and pleasurable to work with. I highly recommend her for hair coloring, highlights, and curly hair.

Susu is amazing! She was able to look at my curly hair and tell help me get it back in shape. The proper technique must be used on curly hair or it will be ruined. Been there, done that. Thank goodness I found Susu. If you have curly hair, she’s well worth it.

Susu is so amazing and lovely by all means. She's so kind and friendly! a beautiful Queen inside and out. very good at her work and very knowledgeable. This is the best haircut I have ever received!! Susu is extremely talented and made my curls pop and shine like they have never been before. So much volume and shape which is exactly what I was looking for. Not only was the cut great- she is also extremely kind and a wonderful person. Cannot thank her enough for the amazing work she did!!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Susu from the moment I walked in the door. She is warm and welcoming, and knows what she is doing. I have dark Asian hair and had a full head of highlights done. I was so pleased and would highly recommend visiting her! My mom and I have been faithful customers for about a year and I gotta tell you, one of the best decisions ever made. Susu always takes such great care of my hair. I typically get my hair washed, trimmed, and have had it flat ironed in the past and the results are consistently fantastic. There’s NO breakage, no dryness and strangers are always complimenting my hair! A few months ago, I got highlights, and I’m thrilled to say they are still glowing beautifully! My hair feels incredibly soft and healthy, thanks to Susu’s expertise. She literally has the magic touch! The atmosphere of the salon is welcoming, and Susu”s attention to detail makes every visit special. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled stylist who truly understands hair care. NOTE - never had to check the mirror to see if she’s cutting too much cuz she knows my hair and has it trained. She explains what’s she’s doing while doing it so there are no hidden surprises which I truly appreciate.
