I’m not usually one to leave bad reviews, but I’m genuinely shocked at the level of unprofessionalism I dealt with on all levels.
I booked an appointment with Bianca (@_biancastyles_) for a balayage. My original appointment was set for 4 PM on a Thursday, which she pushed to 5 PM — not a huge deal, I understand people can run behind. During our consultation, I mentioned wanting to go a little bold, maybe adding some copper/auburn tones (I’m a dirty blonde). She actually advised against that and said she’d just add a bit of warmth at the root to give me the feel of a change without going fully copper.
Well, I attached the inspo photo and the photos of what she actually did — she gave me bright orange roots with blonde ends, and the back of my hair underneath the top layer looked completely untouched (still my natural color). She immediately apologized and said she needed to fix it the next day. At that point, it was 10 PM — yes, a five-hour appointment.
She told me to come back Friday at 4 PM, but right before the appointment, she texted asking if I could come at 5/5:30 instead. Okay, fine. I showed up again with orange roots and told her to do whatever was needed to make it look normal. She tried adding brown or green to neutralize it, but it didn’t work. Another five hours later, my roots were still hot orange and now roots way darker than my natural color. The results were just as bad.
I had a concert Saturday, which was the whole reason I booked that Thursday appointment. She told me to come early Saturday at 8 AM so she could fix it again. Morning of, I got pushed to 9, then 9:30, and she still ran late. I don’t think she even started my hair until 10 AM. At this point, it was obvious this wasn’t about running behind — it was just poor time management.
Session three seemed like it might have worked. She bleached my roots (only the top section, again not the back), totally bleached my face-framing pieces (no highlights just straight bleach), and toned with what looked like brown/green to cover the orange. It felt like a band-aid fix, but I didn’t know what else could be done at that point. I even texted her afterward thanking her, thinking maybe it was okay. But once people started seeing it — other stylists and friends — the reactions were all the same: “How did she let you leave her chair like that?” The longer I inspected, the more I realized I had multiple different colors throughout my hair, no rhyme or reason just chaos.
I ended up going to another salon for a full color correction (those are the “after” photos below - the image with the before and after on one photo). You can clearly see the mess she left me with.
Afterward, I reached out to Bianca explaining how disappointed I was and that after spending almost $1,000 total, I at least expected some accountability — even a partial refund. She charged nearly $500 to absolutely wreck my hair. It took her over a week and a follow-up call to the salon before she finally texted me back, claiming she was “out of town with limited service” — yet was actively posting on Instagram. Her response? She used “a lot of product” and had already done three sessions, so she’d only refund my tip.
Mind you, she says she’s been doing hair since 2012. If that’s true, I have no idea what those years taught her, because she destroyed my healthy hair, refused to take responsibility, and clearly has no grasp of time management or professionalism by offering some form of a refund (knowing she would take a loss but it was her fault/mistake so of course it’s her loss to take!!).
And to make it worse, the salon did nothing because she’s a contractor — which apparently means she can operate however she wants without any accountability.
All in all, I wouldn’t recommend Bianca, and I wouldn’t recommend the salon either based on how this entire situation was handled.
