The Casco

My experience at Redfern at the Casco was incredible. The apartment is modern and well-equipped with all the amenities you’d expect, including a co-working space, a great window view, view of couples getting married at City of Portland Auditorium, and excellent management (Ethan). It’s located in the heart of Portland Downtown, providing easy access to a wide range of food options, classy restaurants, pubs, museums, a library, banks, and more. The neighborhood is safe and well-secured. Trust me, you will enjoy your time at the Casco.

I can’t say enough great things about living at The Casco. The location is ideal, as are the amenities (including the best gym I have ever worked out in, available 24/7 and the Sky Lounge with the best view in the city). The neighbors and the community are great, and it is incredibly well-maintained and well-managed.

Sara and I have been residents for just over a year now. The Redfern design/build team did a terrific job from soup to nuts bringing this property to life in the heart of the Old Port. The materials and finishings in our unit are first class, as is the case in our state - of - the art fitness facility and throughout the common areas, including a range of well thought - out “work from home” spaces, professionally adorned within the building, but what really makes this a special place, and a ‘home’ for us, is Redfern’s management and ops/maintenance team… responsive to our needs at a consistently high standard, with a ‘can do’ attitude when it comes to attention to detail and exceeding a resident’s expectations. Sara and I couldn’t be happier with our experience here… and oh, ya’, our view of Portland Harbor, the sunrises.. are just to die for, and now having Milly’s Market on-site, at our door-step, puts the cherry on top!

The properties of Redfern have offered me an overall positive living experience. More specifically highlighting the management team, especially Ethan, who has been very swift and professional in their responses to any queries I've had and completely understanding of any circumstance that may happen. I would recommend their properties to any future tenants without reservation.

Clean, new, nice place to live. The ceilings and floors appear to be condo grade because you can't hear neighbors above or below you. I was on 11th floor and view of ocean and city skyline is beautiful. Negative - I placed a maintenance request. Staff asked if I wanted notice when they were coming and I said yes. They randomly showed up, knocked, and came in my apt when I was sick in bed. Their lease says they'll give notice and they didn't. Otherwise solid place to live.

The building itself is nice and modern. My biggest complaint is that the residential units don’t have windows that open meaning there’s a lack of fresh air and tons of dust that accumulates in the apartment. The Casco building management also isn’t great. I left an item in the apartment and asked if they could mail it and was declined. That doesn’t sound like hospitable service and left a bad taste in my mouth as someone that was paying $2900 a month in rent.

I absolutely love my apartment at the Casco and from day one Zach and Kaylea have been wonderful! Anytime I have a question they are super helpful and make sure anything I need is taken care of! Everyone is very friendly and I highly recommend if you’re looking for an apartment, you check this place out!

Pro: Nice because it’s new, can’t hear neighbors, community feeling, shared community spaces Con: overpriced for small rooms, windows don’t open, -$600 for small patchwork paint job at end of lease seems high, +$100/mo increase at end of lease Works in a pinch, but it got old quick

Have had nothing but positive things to say about the staff, amenities, the apartment, the view, and the location. Could not be happier.
