The Car Doctor - mobile mechanic

I contacted The Car Doctor when my car wouldn’t start, and they were fantastic from start to finish. They came out the same day to diagnose the issue and returned the very next day with the required part to fix it. Communication was excellent throughout - clear, prompt, and professional. The mechanic was efficient, knowledgeable, and very friendly, which made the whole experience stress-free. I’m very happy with the service and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Thank you again!

I have been using Car Doctor for work on our two cars for over six months. They have a total age of 37 years! I have always found him completely reliable and honest in his dealings with us. In fact it is a pleasure! He has been always right in his diagnosis ( able to find fault on our 21 year old Japanese import that local garages couldn’t) The response is always speedy and always reasonably priced, I have recommended him to my family who all agree he is an absolute gem!

DO NOT USE!! This mechanic could have gotten people seriously hurt or killed through malpractice. I called them out after an ESP light came on and what was a simple job became a nightmare. I was told to order a new steering angle sensor after a diagnostic check, which I did. The mechanic then came out to fit it and after hours of working on my car then told me that the 'check air bag' light was on. He then left my steering wheel completely open and parts placed around my car and told me he would come back in a few days time. The second time he came out was the same story but he suggested I may need a new air bag. I messaged the next day out of frustration to ask if I should order the part as I didn't want him to gain return and keep going through the same situation as he planned. I was told to order it, so I did. He then came out and put my steering wheel back together (did not even use the new air bag) and before leaving told me it was safe to drive with the air bag light still on and that when it comes to an MOT "call me, I come out pass no problem". I had a different company come out today and he told me that not only could my airbag have deployed randomly but it could also have not deployed at all in the event of a crash. The mechanic from this company not only risked my life and that of others around me or passengers but also has now left me without a car as whilst fitting the steering angle sensor it appears he has broken the wiring connection between my airbag and my car's computer. This is backed up by the fact that the check airbag light was not on before he started work on my car. I was learning in my car with an instructor and the mechanic definitely took advantage of the fact that I am a new driver and I have very limited knowledge on cars. I now not only have to buy a new car after spending half the value of the car I already have on trying to fix it with these people but I also have 3 months until my test. Devastated doesn't even cut it.

Phoned early saturday morning by the afternoon a guy was with me... got straight too it, friendly and knowledgeable. Had to call out again next day ( not related to the Saturday) promt and efficient Am now booking all servicing and parts through The Car Doctor 👍👍

Not sure how these guys have great reviews. The mechanic turned up 45 minutes late. He said he knew what the problem was, but was there anyone else that was at home so he could explain it to them. (A man) He told me that my injector in the ad blue just needed a clean and he could come out next week. But that there was a separate issue in that my head gasket was leaking. He wiped it to show me black soot on his finger. Took it to a car garage and he said my twin turbo had a crack in it which was causing the problem with ad blue and if it was head gasket it would be water. Basically paid £70 for him to come out and wipe the code which id already paid someone to do earlier that week and give me wrong information Wouldn't use them again and wouldn't recommend.

Great service. Was able to respond immediately. In constant communication about when mechanic was going to be sent and got my issue resolved. Would definitely use again.

Has a horrendous issue with our car. Car doctor mechanic came out informed me what was wrong and what I needed, got the parts and he sorted our car out so well we hardly recognised the engine. It's the best the car has run for a long time. This is one number that has been saved in the very important file on my phone. I highly recommend them.
