SKETCHY LONG HAULERS
My first and only experience with Boss Taxi:
I ordered a cab from Avondale to Chandler, a man in a cab showed up eventually and we were off. During small talk, I (naively) let the driver know I was new to Arizona and was still getting used to navigating the area. I didn't know it at the time, but we started on the 202 heading East. When we were nearing the exit to take the 101 south he asks "Are we supposed to turn here?" Which confused me because I just told him I didn't know the area, so I responded "I'm not sure." He kind of shrugged and kept driving straight with a smile on his face. Alarm bells immediately went off in my head, and I felt adrenaline shoot through my body, worst case scenario I was being kidnapped, but maybe I was overreacting and the driver just made a simple mistake. I texted a friend who's lived in AZ most of their life, they let me know something was very wrong with that route. I asked the driver if we should turn around or if it would be faster going this way, he did not respond... I texted my friend constantly throughout the trip while internally panicking, and eventually I was brought to my destination where my friend was waiting in the driveway and had it out with the driver for detouring around the Loop 202. After some stressful haggling with the dispatch and cab driver I was happy to wash my hands of the whole terrible event. I was honestly just relieved I wasn't stuffed in a basement somewhere or a victim of human trafficking.
I've since downloaded ride share apps which are all tracked by the companies, if those drivers go off course the app tells them to go the right way, there's also ample opportunities on the apps the report if something's wrong along the way. If the driver of one of those apps did this, he would be fired. Please please please, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR ANY OTHER CAB COMPANY. They operate in the stone age and are unable to track their drivers, their report system is word of mouth through the phone. It is dangerous and prone to degenerate acts like this and worse, and there are no repercussions.
MORAL OF THE STORY/TLDR: Use ride share apps which are safer, and if you HAVE to use a cab company, stay far away from this one.
RESPONSE TO THE EMPLOYER: I would almost commend the amount of mental gymnastics you go through in your response, let's dissect them. Koch Industries and Walmart are owned by families, that doesn't make them any less unethical. Veteran taxi drivers don't take their rider miles outside of the route because of a "miscommunication". And if you're saying that your dispatchers watched as I was taken all the way around the 202 and did nothing to contact the driver or check on the situation, then you're only further proving these 1 star reviews. I'd like to note as well that your response to my complaint wasn't to empathize or investigate, but to tell me that I'm making "horrible assumptions" and chalking the incident up to a "miscommunication". Your response seemed tired, and judging by the other reviews on here I can see why, you must deal with this often, and I'm sorry for that, but the truth is that there is no good name for you to save and there is no good name for me to soil.
My experience with this company from top to bottom has been a nightmare and potentially dangerous at times, I further urge anyone considering using them to go anywhere else. My advice to anyone working for the company would be to please find a more ethical and rewarding way to make a living.
