As a tourist from Singapore visiting Porto, we were seriously craving some authentic Asian food and came across Thailander in the city center. With so many positive Google reviews, we decided to give it a try — and we’re so glad we did! The food was surprisingly good and very reasonably priced. Every dish was flavorful, well-balanced, and truly authentic. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive — they even checked with us on our preferred spice level, which we really appreciated. In fact, in our opinion, the taste here is even better than some of the Thai restaurants we’ve tried in Bangkok. That says a lot! If you’re in Porto and craving Asian food, especially Thai cuisine, Thailander is definitely a restaurant you shouldn’t miss. Highly recommended!

I went in expecting this to be maybe a 70% imitation of a proper Thai restaurant, and I was happily wrong. The second I walked in, the smell of proper Thai cooking hit me and I knew instantly this place was the real deal. We ate in Porto and ordered the Massaman curry, a vegetable Pad Thai (nice that it’s negotiable depending on what you want), and the wok fried vegetables with rice. Everything was fresh, properly prepared, and unmistakably Thai. The Massaman was rich and comforting, the Pad Thai had real flavour and balance (not overly sweet), and the wok veg was crisp and actually cooked properly, not soggy. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion size. I’d come back here again and again and I highly recommend it.
