Don't waste your re-inspection! Many times both contractors and the insured alike fight hard for their claim and in doing so waste the second inspection. It's always a good idea to request a different adjuster to revisit the property and offer another assessment of the damage, especially if your contractor is unable to preform the repairs based on the first estimate. However, come to the inspection with documentation, estimates, quotes and bids for what the actual costs are. Also, be prepared for the push back. This is what a Public Adjuster does. Why not hire a PA to preform these duties from the beginning? Sometimes it's hard to release control of the negotiations that will determine the outcome of repairs, but it makes sense to let the experts to fight on your behalf. There may not be another opportunity to do so. Don't waste your second inspection!
