What about ceramic tile? Ceramic tile is typically installed with a thinset mortar that is mixed with water. The top of the tile is glazed with glass and is a very durable and hard long lasting flooring. The adjuster for the carrier has been trained to believe that any tile can be under water for any amount of time and no damage will come to it, except this isn't true. Tile designed for a pool is capable of this kind of water exposure, but the tile for your home will not withstand this hydrostatic pressure for long. A good public adjuster will point this out to the carrier and have the damaged tile replaced. Moisture meters can detect the damage months after the initial loss but carriers are still hesitant to pay for the damage because they don't document, don't understand or cannot physically see the damage.
