Loved the nostalgic look of this lunch counter restaurant! The manager was so kind and recommended the cheesy western, made with their own tangy relish. Their coffee is delicious and it's their own brand. Sitting with the friendly patrons at the lunch counter was such a great experience in a time when physical socializing is becoming rare. Next time I'm in Harrisonburg, I'll be stopping by to see Marla (the manager, I think) and see what she recommends next.

This is probably the FASTEST I have ever sat down, ordered, and received my food at any point. The employees were all very nice and the food was great! This was a great choice, I really enjoyed coming out here

Great local charm and hospitality. I have been eating at Texas inn in Lynchburg for 40 years. Unreal that Harrisonburg is lucky enough to have this place. I roll cheesy (cheeseburger with fried egg) all the way double relish, bowl all the way double relish, hot all the way double relish. I love that meal but limit how often, I look at this place as a treat. Keep up the great job, staff is friendly and they offer a walk up window.

I’d been craving a good chili dog ever since I moved to VA and it was a lot harder to find than I thought. But as a displaced Texan, I saw this beacon of light and was immediately drawn after seeing the photos on Google. I ordered from the window and the gal who helped me was super sweet - even offered a plain hotdog for my pup who was with me. I inhaled my two chili cheese dogs (with mustard), they were so good. As a true lover of the coney, I opted for liquid cheese over shredded, and I highly recommend you do too :). I’ll be back next time in Harrisonburg!

First time here and unfortunately 1 star for rude/ bad customer service. Waitresses definitely need to be trained properly customer service is everything we all know the business rules not when I make an online order to try something “new” around the burg stand at the window for 15min while all the waitresses are avoiding coming to the window got tired of waiting and walked in first thing being greeted as is “ NAME” handed food and that was it. All your waitresses on the night of 11/08 need proper training.

Food was okay. I got cheese fries and it was better than the burger. The sauce on the fries taste similar to the queso they sell at Taco Bell, so I enjoyed it. However, the burger was really disappointing. The buns were completely dry and the patty was smaller than the bun itself. It was also very thin and I expected more for $4.50. Probably would not come here again, but at least the service was good.

Hi. I’d like to preface this with saying I have been to Texas Inn before. However, today I walked in with a group of friends (one having a dietary restriction, gluten.) and they promptly told us to leave if we are not ordering food. It is not fair to have an open restaurant for only gluten eating people. To attract more customers then the business should be open to allowing more consumers in. Goodkuck!

Cute little place with a very old fashioned menu. We got the burger with jalapeños and that was awesome. Fresh beef patty and soft buns.

We came here after some exploring around historic Harrisonburg and were craving a snack of onion rings and fries. We ordered the chili cheese fries and onion rings along with some soda. The feel is definitely a diner feel and we enjoyed sitting at the counter and chatting with the service staff. The food came out fast and was made to order. The cheese on the fries is like a nacho cheese taste and consistency and the chili is a meat chili that has a slight kick which was perfect with the cheese and perfectly cooked crinkle cut fries. The onion rings were also cooked perfectly and while had more of a beer batter feel it was not overly thick and had a nice crunch. This was perfect for what we were looking for and we would definitely come again for both the food and the friendly staff!

For my 1st time at this restaurant I very much did enjoy a Hamburger that won 1st place in a contest in Harrisonburg Virginia called The Harrisonburger. The environment was great and very clean and the customer service was great and they were very friendly and the prices were definitely affordable.
