Ventilation is IMPORTANT ‼️ We see so many roofs that need replaced too early in their expected lifespan due the the lack of proper ventilation. It’s a real problem here in Central Texas . 1️⃣The top left is a powered attic Vent which can be hardwired to your homes electrical or can also be solar powered and it kicks on whenever the temperature in your attic reaches the set temperature. a very good option as long as it’s not too close to another ventilation source causing the powered vent to draw off the passive vent 2️⃣ The top right is a box vent or some call it a turtle vent . This is a passive vent with no moving parts or electrical and will last a long time (our favorite due to its reliability) 3️⃣ Bottom left is Ridge Vent and it is also a great option and definitely the most efficient means of ventilation but it is a bit more costly when compared to box vents. You will also need a good amount of ridge (where your roof slopes meet at the top) to provide adequate ventilation. 4️⃣ Bottom right is a turbine vent and is our LEAST favorite. Yes, they work but, when they get older or get knocked around by the weather they can become Imbalanced which can cause lack of efficiency of removing heat from your attic space as well as create a screeching noise‼️ These different ventilation systems can is a lot of cases be combined to maximize your roof ventilation which saves you money on you electric bill, keeps your home more comfortable and will make your roof last MUCH LONGER
