What is the School Choice Initiative?
School Choice means providing parents the opportunity to be involved in selecting the school their child will attend. Florida's Independent Education and Parental Choice initiative hope to allow all of Florida's children the opportunity to receive the highest quality of education available to them.
Which means if the school is under a certain capacity, than you can choose to have your child go to that public school even if you aren't zoned for that district.
When searching for a home in your desired school district it's important to know ahead of time whether you have option to choose that school or you must live in the designated zone.
