We got a customer question why the spring for a new door was working for 4 years. Hmm... strange. Usual lifespan for a spring is 9 to 12 years (but not exactly, most it depends on cycles) Than more often you use than less in the years. But get back to the question. Our tech went to the place and found that the spring was shorter than the companies install for doors and smaller wire gauge in same time. What does it mean? The spring was fine to hold the door (because it's short in length), but in same time its shortness means - the shorter life span. The tech replaced pair of springs for bigger gauge, and longer as well - and we hope the lifespan be twice more. Just in case ask the builder what they use for their doors.
