Just notes about garage door openers. Comparing Side Openers (Direct Drive, Jack Shaft, and other names if you know) vs traditional openers with rails (booms). We had conversation about opportunists who trying to break into garage doors with fishing sticks or similar technology. We found that side motors have some pros. The side openers cannot be fished at all. Beside the openers have slide automatic locks, the openers located on sides and fishing not working anymore. And in addition: the side opener don't take space on the ceiling of your garage. The cons: the wide doors are not very strong against strong wind. The traditional openers with rails are pushing the top panel against the wind pretty good. But traditional openers are vulnerable against fishing. But we have some suggestions too.
