How to clean your AC units
Although hosing your unit down is a pretty effective and efficient way of cleaning, there are other ways to clean it.
Clean the fins of the unit
Aside from the condenser, you might want to clean your AC's fins as well. Get a soft brush to vacuum it down gently.
Avoid bending it thoroughly as it could get broken and damaged. You can now spray water on the fins, but you should only use moderate water pressure to remove any build-up.
Clean the evaporator coils of the unit
Keeping the evaporator coils clean is important. However, if you do not have the right tool and the confidence to do it, you can call a professional HVAC technician to do it.
You can also ask them about preventive measures and ways to take care of those evaporator coils.
