This might come as a surprise, but sometimes a newly remodeled kitchen won’t get you the best ROI.
This is because kitchens are very personal spaces–people spend a lot of time in them, and they’re usually the heart of the home.
Every buyer seems to like something a little different in a kitchen. There’s nothing wrong with a builder-grade, gray kitchen with subway tile backsplash, but most people like a space that feels like home and reflects their style.
If your kitchen is in dire need of an update, consider redoing your cabinets or countertops. This will freshen the space up but still allow buyers to make personal choices on backsplashes and other finishes.
You can also add value to your home by focusing on the bones: can you update the paint throughout the home to clean, light-infused colours? What about finishing out the basement or garage to add more storage space?
Your real estate agent will be able to tell you exactly which upgrades to make to boost your home’s value. Want to see what I’d recommend for your home? Send me a DM and let’s talk!
