In the pic the scalloped is on the hunt. Scallops have been anywhere from 3-6 ft. Limits are possible with very experienced scallopers, however just the experience is worth the time. There’s something to be said for the mediation that happens while looking for the prized scallop, time seems to stop and worries fade away.
