I guess I got lucky in the past that the one person in this so called barber shop who can do a bald fade was in. But I came in, did the little sign in thing requesting a bald fade. One of them looked at it and told me it would be 15-20 minutes, so I sat and waited for about half an hour and then when my turn was up I was informed that none of the multiple people there could do what any normal barber can and that I would need to wait an additional 40 minutes for the one person who could. I don’t understand why they didn’t tell me when I first entered my information that they weren’t capable of providing that service. I can’t understand why a barbershop would only have only one qualified barber.

I came in on a Saturday in a few minutes before opening. I was greeted pleasantly and all of the services were explained clearly. I asked my barber, Guido, for a quick shave of my head so that I could finish it up at home. I got much more than expected. He shaved my head just as well as I would’ve done it myself, used some fresh product after the shave, and hooked me up with a gift that I really needed at the end. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an inexpensive and quality haircut.

Took a day trip in Santa Cruz and my friend and I both needed haircuts- called 4 places and nowhere could take walk-ins. One place we stopped recommended Surecuts and said they were very good so we walked over. Excellent customer service to begin, they greeted us warmly and professionally, and the wait time was roughly only 10 minutes on a pretty busy day. Brock did a fantastic and speedy job cutting my hair, felt fresh and clean after. He was friendly and professional and kept me engaged through the process. I would recommend Brock to anyone coming here. Charge was exactly 25$- as advertised, no surprises! They give you a punch card reward for 5$ off the 5th haircut, which is a big bonus! Surecuts was a great experience and I will be coming back here when I'm in the area. 5 Stars!

Last year I was getting my laundry done, decided to get a haircut and found Surecuts and have been going ever since. Usually, I see Angela and she’s always very efficient and meticulous about the details. This last haircut I experienced with Brock and the level of service was the same. Surecuts is convenient for me as I live in the neighborhood and also the cost. The staff is always friendly and usually I never have to wait too long. Thanks again!

I was visiting Santa Cruz on business and needed a haircut. A local barbershop highly recommended this place, and their endorsement truly says a lot. From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome set the tone for an exceptional experience. Signing in at the kiosk was quick and seamless, and the service began unlike anything I'd encountered at four other shops. Rebecca did a fantastic job, giving me the exact haircut I wanted with a photo I showed her . My buddy had the exact experience with Brock and the price was incredibly reasonable at just $25. The ambience transported me back in time with its charming music and spotless interior and cool photographs. The shop was immaculately clean, including the bathroom, which smelled freshly scrubbed. If you're visiting Santa Cruz, this spot is a must. They accommodate both appointments and walk-ins, and their loyalty program offers $5 off your fifth cut—a great perk in today's economy. While you wait, enjoy the beauty and barber shop banter or their free Pac-Man and Tetris arcade games or grab a lollipop for the kids.

Worst haircut I ever got ;( When I was getting my haircut, I was talking to the stylist telling her what I wanted and she wasn’t even paying attention. She was looking off in space I should’ve got up and left then.

I’m horrified that the woman who cut my hair allowed me to leave with the back of my head looking like this. Not only is it not even close to being even, there’s a huge chunk missing. I always just walk into a random spot as I ask for arguably the easiest cut to execute- 1 length, no layers, cut to just above my shoulders (I was having about 10 inches cut off to donate). Usually, the person cutting my hair will tie it into 1 or two ponytails and then cut just below my shoulders and work upwards to make sure things are even. I should have known things were taking a bad turn when she braided my hair at the nape of my neck and then used clippers to shave the braid off. This obviously left my hair way shorter than I had asked and because the braid started so high and pulls hair from 3 different directions/heights, it created a very short area at the middle back of my head with much longer pieces at the sides. Instead of being honest and addressing the situation and offering possible solutions, she silently tried to blend the weird, choppy areas (it clearly didn’t work). The second red flag was when I was not offered the opportunity to look at the back of my head. I figured it was way shorter than I wanted and more of an a-line (barf) but never imagined it would be horribly botched and so uneven, otherwise I would have said something. I was allowed to pay, tip (almost 50%), and leave without anyone saying a word to me about the mess on the back of my hair. So dishonest and gross. I understand that mistakes happen but to not say anything to a client is such bad practice and cowardly. I was able to fix it (sort of) but lost another 2-3 inches in an effort to even things out. What a nightmare.
