They often say you get the government you deserve? Well they sure treat us with contempt, the Queensland Government has as of today 1 July 2019 introduced what they call a "waste levy" They cant even call it what it is, a tax.
As reported last Thursday and Friday of Channel 7 news this Government has done all it could from the outset to mislead, deceive and straight out lie about this tax. They suggested it would not apply to Queensland households for example, they tried to be tricky at one point and use the words, "it would not directly impact households"
They even stated at the first sign of such a tax that no mater what was recommended NO such tax would be introduced. How blatant a lie can you get.
They have also spent $50K of taxpayers money on spin doctors to try and again mislead, mis inform.
I am not politically minded as such but I for one do not like being taken for a fool, do you?
This tax will impact many people such as those renovating their home, building a new home, buying a new home, hiring a skip, just to mention a few.
Surely we deserve better Government that this, I am all for minimising waste and recycling, I have two children and as such I am concerned about this and other maters including the environment.
As the owner of a small skip business this tax will impact me and most of my customers.
But this tax by stealth, by lying, by misleading is not the way to do it.
