Opening the wall cavity behind this outdoor tap revealed a split in the 20mm copper supply line. The owner had noticed no water at the tap despite mains pressure elsewhere in the property. Our plumber cut out the defective section and replaced it with new copper, then fitted a brass hose tap with a clean wall flange. The existing tap body had corroded internally beyond repair, and patching it would have created a weak point. Sunshine Coast Plumbing and Hot Water restored full flow to the garden outlet the same afternoon. Outdoor taps that suddenly stop working in the 4575 area may indicate concealed pipe failure. Arranging leak detection early avoids water damage inside wall cavities.
