Electric storage water heaters rely on immersion elements to heat and maintain water temperature in an insulated tank, with proper valve protection critical for longevity and safety. We responded to a Pomona property where the back dwelling had lost all hot water supply. Inspection showed an aging system lacking the full valve protection that modern installations require. A 50-litre electric storage unit went in the underfloor crawlspace, complete with a full valve set including tempering valve for safe 50°C delivery, cold water expansion valve to stop pressure damage, and pressure limiting valve to extend system life. The new unit sits on a polyslab pizza base for stable mounting in the confined space. All copper and plastic pipework was connected, electrical supply commissioned, and the system tested for proper temperature regulation.
