The fittings on both the flow and return lines at this rainwater tank had developed small leaks that caused the pump to cycle constantly and the toilet cistern to run. Patching individual connections would have addressed the visible drips but left aged fittings elsewhere in the assembly vulnerable to future failure. Our plumber isolated the tank, removed all defective fittings, and installed new compression connections with fresh PVC sections. The tank level stabilised after the repair, and the pump returned to normal operation. Sunshine Coast Plumbing and Hot Water completed leak detection and repair on the full assembly rather than chasing individual drips. Tank-fed systems in the 4551 area benefit from periodic fitting inspections. Unexplained pump cycling or dropping tank levels are worth investigating before water loss escalates.
