Upon excavation near the water meter, our plumber found a 15mm poly line with a split actively spraying under pressure. The saturated ground and pooling water suggested the burst had developed recently, and the owner had noticed her front yard flooding that morning. Tree roots had grown close to the line but were not the direct cause. The defective section was cut out, new pipe was joined using compression fittings, and the repair was pressure tested before backfilling. Sunshine Coast Plumbing and Hot Water restored supply within the hour. Underground leaks can waste significant volumes before surfacing, and leak detection and repair is worth arranging promptly when water appears where it should not.
