Sundog Solar

We chose Sundog Solar to provide the solar energy system for our new off-grid mountain home. This was a great decision! Our home was a challenging large scale project. We needed a very large system that was capable of providing consistent reliable energy throughout the year. My wife has health issues and I needed to be certain that I could keep her comfortable at all times. I worked with the sundog engineers to develop a very sophisticated and reliable system. I was very pleased with this process and confident in my discussions with them. The installation was highly professional and exactly to spec. Sundog uses experienced highly qualified professionals for the installation and all work is done per the National Electric Code (NEC) and North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). They also use the highest quality solar products. Our system consisted of a large array of panels, a battery energy storage system and a back up generator. We have been in the home for four months and everything works flawlessly and provides more energy than we consume. I am extremely pleased with this system and the work of the Sundog team! I highly recommend them!

They were skilled, engaged, timely and happy to communicate. As a result of their planning and efforts, we have enough power to run our house and an EV.

We had Sundog Solar install a 12 kW system on our roof. From start to finish they were a great company to deal with. The installation and administrative handling of the interconnection was handled professionally. Very pleased with our new system, and how the installation came together.

Sundog Solar misrepresented the capabilities of the Daikin heat pump system they sold and installed for us. We were promised a system capable of serving as our primary heating source in Maine winters, with the flexibility to add a third indoor unit later. Instead, we got a 24k BTU system that maxes out with two heads, struggles in the cold, and was falsely advertised as higher-capacity in their own proposal. When we raised concerns, they claimed it was a “typo” and refused to take accountability. Complaints have been filed with the AG, BBB, FTC, and Daikin. I strongly recommend others look elsewhere if they expect honesty, technical competence, or follow-through.

We are delighted with our two new heat pumps installed by Jon from Sundog Solar. He was very efficient and knowledgable about the pumps. Jon was also very friendly and answered all of our questions. Not only was Jon friendly, but the whole staff was very accommodating and friendly as they served our needs, through the whole process. Wonderful group of people!

I live in my RV, so having the solar panels on the roof working is a much needed thing. Two of my connectors broke and I needed them quickly so that I could have power Son dog answered my call after closing time and said if you can get here we’ll help you out grant you were about 45 minutes away and I got there and Josh met with me and Thanks to Tim his coworker. We got the parts we Couldn’t find them anywhere else in Bangor had all the way to see his poor Maine these guys are awesome. I’ve seen their handiwork and they do great job too. The photo shows the pins that I needed and they just had to have they had them on hand. Thank you, Tim and Josh. I really do appreciate you guys are awesome.
