Had a homeowner out in Orchards, Matthew, who already had a central system in the house, but the upstairs was later built out into a man cave with no heating or cooling at all. Every summer it would just get hot up there, and he finally wanted to do something about it.
The room itself had a really clean, detailed design, and Jane (his wife) was big on aesthetics. She didn’t want anything bulky or out of place messing up the look of the space.
We ended up going with a Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat ductless system and used a floor-mounted air handler instead of a wall unit. It fit the room a lot better and kept everything low profile.
Took our time with placement and line routing, kept everything clean, and it honestly turned out really sharp. Passed Jane’s approval right away, which is always the real test.
System is super quiet, fully inverter-driven, and gives him control over fan settings and comfort in that space. It’s also very efficient, and we helped them get their Clark County rebates submitted and handled.
Now he can actually use that room year-round without it turning into a sauna.
If you’ve got a space like that where ductwork isn’t an option, there’s usually a clean way to handle it without tearing everything apart.
