Sun exposure can lead to wrinkles, age spots and even skin cancer. When you go out, make sure you care for your skin by:
✔ Wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen, applied generously every two hours.
✔ Staying in the shade between 10 AM and 4 PM.
✔ Wearing protective clothing that covers your skin, or including additives in your wash to give your clothes extra UV defence.
✔ Giving up smoking, which can narrow and weaken the blood vessels in the skin's outer layers, decreasing blood flow and compromising its supply of oxygen and nutrients. Smoking also makes your skin less elastic, as it damages collagen and elastin, and increases your risk of developing squamous cell skin cancer.
