I called stone cold masonry for a quote and from the beginning of the quote, to me hiring them, to finishing the job, Kevin was very professional and was an excellent communicator from beginning to the end. Really takes care of the customers!

We had chimney repair done on our 1886 house. Very pleased with the work. Kevin is amazing to work with, contacting me daily with work updates. Great care was given to match the brick and mortar. His crew was friendly and considerate when we were there and the work areas were left clean. I would highly recommend Stone Cold Masonry!

Kevin will charged you $10,000 over his estimate while leaving your yard in shambles and leaving you to clean up his workers garbage. He will charge you for a full crew and extra work hours, all while chicken-hawking your neighbours for work and spending his crew out taking focus away from the job you hired him for. Make sure all communications with Kevin are in written form. *Added since Reply* Kevin knew the extent of the job prior to making his original estimate. What became unexpected was where the water table was under my house. Kevin was made aware of the water and that pumps wouls be required. Kevin then sent his crew with no pumps and claimed it as a wasted day for his crew. I don't have an issue with the work done by the crew he sent. It was a rough situation, but he knew this prior to taking on the job. As for the rubble and garbage, I requested that the bricks and tree roots be backfield with the dirt. Kevin took this as all the materials used by his crew and garbage they created gets left at the customer's property. Like I said earlier, make sure all communications with Kevin are done in writing. The garbage left behind was discovered on the same day he billed $10,000 over his estimate. He gave no warnings that the bill was climbing that high. Minus the water situation, Kevin knew what the job entailed.

Kevin was great with the initial work, took care of the neighbours concerns with respect to markings on the driveway, provided a warranty and did all the work within the quoted price. However, after a couple of years, some repairs needed to be done which he indicated was under warranty. However, he ran into some issues when he first said he would come out and I gave him a month to deal with these. After this time he said he was coming out a couple of times, but then never set up an actual day. He then stopped answering my emails. His work is good, but he does not stand behind his warranties. Very disappointed as I had been recommending him to people up until this point. I have an email from Kevin saying it was covered under warranty.

I initially contacted Kevin lost and flustered for a damaged warehouse wall. He was very helpful in guiding me through the whole process even though this project was complicated and new issues arose that he doesn’t generally do and hasn’t done. Stone Cold Masonry did a brick work restoration job on my mother’s 70 year old house- that my father and his friends, built - without any real knowledge of house building! Consequently, the walls were not straight or necessarily level... so it was a difficult job. In addition, the materials that were used to build the house were unavailable in 2021. The things I liked about this company who I hired to repair the brickwork was: 1) they got back to me promptly to set up an appointment 2) they showed up to the appointment on time 3) they took the time to explain what was happening ( why the bricks were coming off the wall) and how they would fix it! 4) they gave an estimate within a prompt time frame 5) they kept in touch with me throughout the fall/ winter to ensure I was in their docket for spring 6) they consistently and repeatedly kept in touch with texts and emails before, during and after the job to ensure I was aware of what was happening, when the job would start and to troubleshoot any problems that were occurring with supplies and materials 7) they did not need any money up front, just the total upon job completion. 8) they did a great job on the project! The wall and sills were done extremely well and the project looks great!! 9) each job is different for sure- but for my job, I highly recommend this company! Thanks!!
