I first met Dr. Torey and his staff at the Suwanee Half Marathon earlier this year (2025). That was my first half, and although I am an avid runner, the race proved far more challenging than expected despite all the training I had done. The first half went great, but quickly went south as significant soreness and some pain settled in. I finished, and all in all my time was decent, but I pretty much hobble-walked across the line. Dr. Torey and company were setup at the race and I started talking with them about the race. Based on that introduction, I ended up following up for an initial visit. We talked about the challenges with the race in detail, and did a gait analysis (Wow was that revealing) and put in place a PT plan to address the issues. I can't stress this enough, each any every session was a full hour with Dr. Torey, every time, and the communication as needed between sessions was exceptional. The results? I set a PR on almost every course I normally run, matched my all-time 5K PR, finally got a podium in Trail Race and set a 10K PR. My gait is substantially better, my cadence increased and my ground contact time decreased among other improvements. If that's not a successful outcome, I am not sure what is ;). I'm onboard for next year's Suwanee half and looking forward to see how that goes!
