WISDOM TEETH
Why do I need my wisdom teeth removed?? I see a Wisdom Tooth on an emergency almost every week. Why? They are hard to keep clean and develop deep cavities close to the nerve (yellow). They lean on adjacent teeth and cause them to decay (green). They can grow in sideways and become impacted (red). The roots grow close to the main nerve in the lower jaw bone (blue). They can cause teeth crowding. The gum tissue around the wisdom tooth gets infected (pericoronitis). Wisdom teeth are a very common dental emergency. If you are having pain and or swelling with a wisdom tooth you need to be seen as soon as possible. 🦷👀
