Why Can’t You Walk on Carpet After Cleaning?
After a deep carpet cleaning, walking on it too soon can ruin the results. Freshly cleaned carpets remain damp for several hours, making them more susceptible to dirt and damage. If you step on a wet carpet, your feet can transfer oils and debris, causing rapid re-soiling. Additionally, pressure from footsteps can flatten the fibers before they dry, affecting the carpet’s texture and lifespan.
To ensure the best results, allow carpets to dry for at least 6–12 hours before walking on them. Using fans, opening windows, or turning on the AC can speed up the drying process. If you must walk on it, wear clean socks or use protective shoe covers to minimize contamination.
