I was charged $54 for an engine air filter replacement. The process itself was very simple and took only a moment, which made the price feel high compared to purchasing the filter independently at a retail store. After posting my initial concern, the business replied asking me to contact them to “make it right.” I did so, but the follow-up conversation did not resolve the issue and ended abruptly. During that exchange, I felt personally criticized based on the type of vehicle I drive, which I found unprofessional and unrelated to the original concern. I understand that businesses set their own pricing, but if customers are encouraged to reach out, those discussions should remain respectful and solution-focused. Based on my experience, I would not recommend speedy oil.

Absolutely unacceptable service that has left my family in a precarious and stressful situation while driving across the country. I came to Speedy Petey for what should have been a routine oil change. Instead, they rounded off the oil drain plug—a basic and fundamental task even the most junior mechanic should handle properly. Not only did they damage the bolt, they refused to take responsibility for it. This isn’t just about a stripped bolt. This happened right before a long-awaited family reunion trip, where we’re driving from Ontario to rural British Columbia. After their “service,” our car began leaking oil—half a litre lost within a 30-minute drive. We had to scramble to find a shop to fix the issue while traveling, ruining the evening and casting a shadow over the entire reunion. Now, we’re expected to drive all the way back to Ontario with a car we no longer trust—all because of this shop’s negligence. We’re talking about a long-distance, cross-country road trip with family members on board, now made risky and uncertain. To be clear: their mistake caused mechanical damage, delayed our plans, cost us additional money to fix, and significantly affected our family experience. And still, no apology, no ownership, no compensation. If you value your vehicle, your time, and your peace of mind—avoid this place at all costs.
