Shannon Thomas founded SCC in 2009 and is an internationally recognized specialist in the area of trauma-informed therapy. Shannon is the author of two bestselling books on the topics of hidden psychological abuse and financial exploitation & abuse. Shannon also specializes in working with clients who have experienced harm in churches and other faith-based environments. Shannon works exclusively with clients who live in the Dallas/Fort Worth region and offers in-person counseling sessions. Clients from various religious backgrounds are welcomed.

If I lived in the Southlake area seeing Shannon Thomas and her team would be my first choice! I've read Shannon's book "Healing from Hidden Abuse" and it was LIFE CHANGING. I've given the book to friends as gifts and they've had the same experience. I also follow their facebook posts which are helpful bits of information on a daily basis. I have found Shannon's work to be life affirming, boundary driven and healthy. I fully believe her practice to be the same.

Shannon Thomas’s book “Healing from Hidden Abuse” resonated so much with me that I began seeing her for counseling. In the past 2+ years my life has changed completely. Shannon has helped navigate me through some very difficult times with toxic family members and acquaintances. She has given me the tools and support I needed to find peace in my life. I am so thankful for her and her knowledge and her direct approach. She truly was a game changer for me!
