Sunday Fun Fact 🌲
Longleaf pine is one of the most versatile trees in the South.
Its tall, straight trunk produces some of the strongest southern pine used for utility poles and structural lumber.
But it also produces something many people overlook — pine straw.
Longleaf needles are long, durable, and slow to break down, making them one of the most valuable landscaping mulches in the Southeast.
One tree.
Two markets.
That’s part of the reason longleaf pine has been such an important species for Southern landowners for generations.
