It's rare that I can walk into a car dealership without the anxiety of what to expect. I had visited South Shore a few years back and left with complete disappointment.
A short time ago South Shore came under new ownership. As I entered today, I was instantly at ease. The showroom was revamped and very appealing.
The sales manager, Derran shook my hand welcoming me to the store. His calm and friendly character was reassuring and he asked, "How can we help you?", I said, "make me an offer I can't refuse, don't let me leave, impress me."
Derran introduced me to one of the sales representatives, Lucas, a young man with complete knowledge and understanding of the various models on the floor.
We sat and spoke about what I was trying to accomplish, and Lucas went right to work for me.
It was clear that new ownership meant new business model.
We landed a specific car that I wanted to lease and without spending unnecessary time, which I value, he went to work on it with Derran and the General Sales Manager, Danny.
Lucas returned with a cold bottle of water and lease numbers for a 2026 beautiful red premium package Rogue.
It took about 5 minutes to tighten up the numbers to the point where I did not need to shop around, nor would I have been comfortable at another Nissan dealership with their stale and predictable "back and forth" with my offer.
I returned a few hours later after work to pick up the car.
Lucas introduced me to Andy in Finance, and he streamlined the entire process. Unlike most finance managers, Andy made a few suggestions about add-ons that pertain specifically to the Rogue, and when I declined, since I had the monthly payment set in my mind, there was no "push back" as we've all come to expect from this part of the sales process.
Andy and the General Sales Manager Danny thanked me for my business, we had a nice conversation before I went outside with Lucas, who demonstrated everything that I would need to know about my new car and did me the favor of connecting the Nissan app on my phone to the new car.
