Counter surveillance and behaviour detection β do they really matter? π€·ββοΈ
Completely different skill sets but in many ways both looking for the same thing β threat. Be it threat to a principle, high value item or an event. β
Having undertaken a Close Protection course in the UK and delivered training on CP courses around the surveillance element , my view is that not enough time is taken in teaching these valuable skills and a day or two certainly isnβt enough to scratch the surface. π
Reputable companies like 242MSU embed these skills into an ingrained way of deploying, recognising and mitigating against perceived threat before things turn ugly.
My (admittedly jaundiced) view is that knowing if someone is looking for weaknesses to exploit, planning to cause harm or planning to disrupt ,then recognising those hostile actors at the earliest opportunity is paramount. π
I acknowledge in a commercial sense, it is more cost to a deployment and I stand to be corrected , but would suggest security providers strongly consider a greater input into these dark arts or deploy specialists to do it for them. π΅ββοΈ
