Summary: they gave us a car with low oil, followed by unresponsive customer service, causing us to lose a whole day of our trip.
We rented a car and after driving it for only 150km, the low oil level light came on. I briefly checked the oil and it was low. How is it possible that a rental car company does not check the engine oil of their own cars?
To make matters worse, I tried calling their offices for 2 hours, to decide how to proceed, and nobody picked up. Then they were closed for the day and we decided to abort our trip, as we were in the middle of the road.
In the next day, I called as soon as they opened up and nothing. After a couple tries, I reached out to the Málaga offices, which did pick up, and they said they would call us back. But they didn't. We called again and they said they would call us back. But they didn't again. They only connected us to the Marbella offices in our third time, 2 hours after we first called that morning. They finally agreed with replacing our rental which required us driving back to Marbella. Once all was said and done, we had already lost a whole day of our trip. No one even apologized.
I submitted this review before and, in their response, they said it was only a maintenance alert and it was my choice to abandon the trip. Therefore I am resubmitting this review to include proof that the engine oil was at the lowest recommended level. If I continued the trip and something happened to the car, I am certain they would blame me for driving it with the low oil check on. They also said I should have used the email on their website instead of calling, but their website list both email and phone number together, with no information that one is preferred over the other.
